Nokia and ST-Ericsson have signed a partnership, in which ST-Ericsson will cooperate with Symbian Foundation, based on ST-Ericsson’s U8500 single chip. The U8500 single chip will enable the wide adoption of feature-rich multimedia 3G Smartphones.

This chip is the first one enabling full HD, and with its combination of a dual-core SMP processor the chip will offer a unique PC-like Web-browsing usage in coming smartphones. This means that Nokia is getting in on that 1080p High Def Video Recording, so they’re about to launch something big in the forthcoming months, let’s see what happens.
